ABOUT US

The Oriskany Museum is located in Oriskany, New York between the cities of Utica and Rome in Upstate New York. Our collection honors the history of our village, the Battle of Oriskany, and the USS Oriskany CV/CVA-34.

OUR VISION

"...to preserve a proper place in history for the momentous events in and concerning the Battle of Oriskany which have taken place in this vicinity; to promote suitable memorials thereto; to maintain and operate one or more Museums; to disseminate knowledge of local history; to conduct educational programs and encourage general participation therein; to record the growth and history of the Village..."

WHAT WE DO

Our museum is free and open to the public. We are currently booking private tours. Occupancy is limited to 12 people. Masks and social distancing are required by state and county ordinance.

Oriskany is a small, close-knit community sustained through the common values of education, family, and helping others.

ABOUT US

The Oriskany Museum was founded as the Battle of Oriskany Historical Society in 1967. Today, the collection is featured in its own building in the heart of Oriskany, NY. 

Oriskany Museum Hours (April 12 - June 30, 2025)

Tuesdays: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Thursdays: 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Sundays: Noon to 3:00 pm

Closed Easter Sunday, Mother's Day & Father's Day
