Goal:

Create a searchable index of Revolutionary War Veteran burials in Oneida County, New York to be available online and/or in print by Memorial Day 2024. 

 

How to Participate:

Submit known Revolutionary War veteran burials in your municipality through our online form at oriskanymuseum.com/revvets

If you are not a municipal historian, please coordinate with your local historian or historical society to participate. Find the contact information for your local NYS Municipal Historian here: https://www.aphnys.org/Find-A-Historian

 

If you are not online and would prefer to participate by mail, please submit by mail to:

Please include:

  • Veteran Name

  • Cemetery

  • Municipality of Cemetery

  • Rank (if known)

  • Unit (if known)

  • Any family buried with the veteran

  • Nearest American Legion

  • If the grave has a veteran marker/flag

ABOUT US

The Oriskany Museum was founded as the Battle of Oriskany Historical Society in 1967. Today, the collection is featured in its own building in the heart of Oriskany, NY. 

Oriskany Museum Hours (April 12 - June 30, 2025)

Tuesdays: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Thursdays: 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Sundays: Noon to 3:00 pm

Closed Easter Sunday, Mother's Day & Father's Day
